Family_Doing_TaxesEvery year, millions of Americans struggle to understand the nearly 10,000 sections and more than 70,000 pages of the tax code. And, with multi-national corporations spending millions on lawyers and accountants to pay as little as possible, middle-class families end up paying more than their fair share to make up the difference.

In his State of the Union address, President Obama challenged Republicans and Democrats to work together to simplify our overly-complicated tax code. It’s a challenge Steve believes Congress must take on sooner rather than later.

Simplifying the tax code will level the playing field for Long Island families. By taking simple steps such as eliminating tax breaks that make our economy less efficient, and lowering rates to reduce everyone’s tax burden, we can save millions of Americans money – and headaches.
