Transportation and Infrastructure Requests

Rep. Israel submitted the following requests for the Water Resources Development Act of 2010:

• Brown’s River: The project will provide for the work necessary for the navigation of Brown’s River. The commercial viability of this waterway is vital to the Town of Islip's economy. This request was for $3.5 million.
• Project 111-NY-2nd-002: Authority to complete Coastal/Marine Management Plan for ecosystem restoration in Long Island, New York State and the North Atlantic region. This will help the coastal management of the Long Island Sound with a significant amount of work in Huntington, NY. This request was for $15 million.
• WRDA Legislative Request - Allow for the temporary suspension of local cost shares for Army Corps projects.  This will help many projects get underway during these challenging fiscal times.
